The companion system in Mount & Blade II: Bannerlord allows you to customize almost every aspect of each companion. It’s a good idea to recruit the most companions as you can at the beginning of the game so they level up with you as you play the game. To start, here’s how you can find all of the different companions in Bannerlord.
How To Find Companions in Bannerlord
Head into the Clan page in Bannerlord, which can be done by clicking on the icon from the bottom left of the screen.
From the Clan page, click on your portrait from the top left of the screen and go to the “Home” tab. This opens the Encyclopedia tab. We then want to navigate to the “Heroes” page.
On the left side of the Heroes page, check the box under Occupation called Wanderer. This is how you can see every single Companion in Bannerlord.
Reference this location to see where exactly on the map you can find each companion. If you click on a person you can see their character sheet along with their skills in order to find out where they excel.
From the character screen, you can also find out where that companion was last seen. Look at the top right of the window and you should say something that says “Last seen at [location] today.”
Click on the city listed in that section, and it will bring up some information about that city. You’ll see a track button on the top left of the screen that you can select. If we select that and then exit back into our game, we’ll have a marker for that city’s location.
You can head over to the settlement or location where the companion you want is located. Companions can sometimes move to completely different settlements by the time you arrive, so check on their location often.
You can save the game before arriving at the settlement, and reload from the save spot if your NPC is not there. A random NPC will be shown in that settlement at the top right of the screen. It’s different every time, so if the NPC you want is not there, reload and try again. Talk to the NPC and hire them for some gold. This is the process of hiring companions.

Healer
Erta Willowbark – A healer is essential for any party. Erta has high Medicine skills and intelligence, making her a good companion for the job.
Scout
Churig Frostbear – With high scouting and bow skills, Churig will be effective at scouting and do well in combat. This is a great choice for a scout companion.
Tactics

Ilmir the lucky – Having someone with good tactics will help you out in battles. If you pick Ilmir, make sure to throw some points into Cunning so he becomes better tactically, as his Cunning is naturally a bit low.
Rogue
Apys the Robber – Apys is a good Rogue with 60 natural Roguery and high Cunning. He will level his Roguery quickly and prove to be a good addition to the party.
Combat
Agna the Shieldmaiden – There are a few companions that are good at combat. Agna the Shieldmaiden excels at Two-Handed combat, with 200 natural skill. She also has high Riding and Athletic skills which make her even more effective in combat.
Choosing the correct companions depends on your playstyle. Complement your style and be sure to have a good overall party composition, with a healer, tactician, rogue, scout, and combat specialist.
